(CMR) The Cayman Islands squash team registered two wins at the 37th Senior Caribbean Squash Championships on Thursday.
According to the Jamaica Observer, in the veterans' contests, the Cayman Islands team of Keith Higgins, Lori-Ann Foley, Jodi Jervis, Marlene West, and Nick Buckley defeated Trinidad and Tobago 3-2.
Thursday night, the Jamaica Observer reported that Jamaica was trailing the Cayman Islands 3-0 in the five-team contest. Cayman's Emma Turnbull defeated Jamaica's Savannah Thompson 12-10, 11-6, 4-11, 9-11, 6-1 before Michaela Rensburg beat Melissa Lue Yen 11-9, 11-6, 11-2. Jamaica's Mia Todd went down 8-11, 4-11, 5-11 to Cayman's Jade Pitcairn.
Cayman is expected to play Trinidad and Tobago in the five-team contest today, Friday, 26 August. The one-week tournament is being held from 21-27 August in Kingston, Jamaica.
