(CMR) Caymanian Davonte Howell ran a stunning 10.15 seconds to win the Under-20 100 meter on Saturday at the CARIFTA Games, currently taking place at the Kirani James Stadium in Grenada. This is Davonte's back-to-back win in the 100m for the past two consecutive CARIFTA events.
Jaiden Reid finished second in 10.34 seconds ahead of the Jamaican athlete, who finished third in the same time. They both placed first in the semi-final heats earlier.
Both Howell and Reid are ecstatic with their performance, creating history for the Cayman Islands with silver and gold in the event.
The CARIFTA Games in Grenada continue on Sunday and will end on Monday, 1 April.
