(CMR) A 43-year-old male who was trapped in a car Wednesday night, 16 February, following a single-vehicle collision along Shamrock Road, was admitted in critical condition and underwent surgery early Thursday morning.
Police reports are that shortly before midnight, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 911 Communication Centre to a report of a single-vehicle collision on Shamrock Road in the vicinity of Valley Drive, Bodden Town.
The Cayman Islands Fire Service extricated the 43-year-old male who was trapped in the vehicle. The man was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital with a serious head wound and burns to the face and body. On arriving at the hospital, he was assessed as in critical condition.
Initial reports show that the vehicle was traveling east along Shamrock Road towards Bodden Town when the vehicle veered to the other side of the road and overturned, and came to a stop in bushes on the side of the road.
