(CMR) Police are still seeking witnesses to an altercation at the Seven Mile Public Beach last month, which left a man with serious lacerations, and requiring surgery.
CMR understands that the victim and the mother of his child had an argument on 17 December when another man attacked him, inflicting several wounds.
Police say they are continuing to investigate an incident which resulted in the man ending up in hospital for treatment for serious lacerations to his head and hand, requiring surgery.
“For this type of case, witnesses are vital in order for police to reach an evidential threshold for a charge to be made against a culprit. We thank those who have come forward, but we must build our case in order to have the best chance to achieve justice for the victim,” said Detective Superintendent Peter Lansdown.
Video footage circulated on social media at the time of the incident reveals that a number of people were in the vicinity at the time of the incident, some giving a commentary on events. Police encourage these persons to come forward and provide information to support the case.
Police request anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 949-4222.
