UPDATE: American actor Christian Klepser (51) and his two daughters, 12-year-old Madita and 10-year-old Annik Klepser, were identified as the passengers killed in a plane crash in St Vincent and the Grenadines on Thursday. Klepser, known professionally as Christian Oliver, appeared in several movies throughout his career, including the 2008 film “Speed Racer.”
The pilot was identified as Robert Sachs, who police said also owned the plane.
(CMR) Four people, including two children, died after a small plane crashed shortly after taking off from J.F. Mitchell Airport in St Vincent and the Grenadines today, January 4.
According to the St Vincent Times, the three passengers were on vacation in Bequia and were departing the island when tragedy struck.
The US-registered aircraft departed from Bequia shortly after midday en-route to Hewanorra Airport in St. Lucia.
Upon the occurrence of the crash, nearby fishermen promptly mobilized to the site and, in collaboration with the Coast Guard, successfully retrieved the deceased individuals, St Vincent Times reported.
Residents in the La Pompe community captured video of the plane crashing into the water.
The aircraft appears to have stalled shortly after takeoff.
