(CMR) The Cayman Islands won its first-ever medals in the pool at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago on Sunday.
James Allison swam his way to a Silver medal in the 200 Men’s Free, finishing with a time of 1.50.97. He collected the first-ever Commonwealth Youth Games medal for the Cayman Islands in the pool.
The Cayman Islands swimmers gave impressive performances throughout the day, with Harper Barrowman placing 8th overall (2.22.09)in the 200 Women Free. Jillian Crooks placed 7th overall in the 50 Women’s Fly with a time of 27. 67.
Crooks then came back to blast her way to a podium finish in the 100 Women’s Back, taking a third-place finish with a time of 1.02.10, securing Cayman's second-ever Commonwealth Games medal.
