(CMR) Member of Parliament and former speaker McKeeva Bush pleaded not guilty to rape and indecent assault when he appeared in court on Friday, 14 July. He is expected to stand trial on November 6.
When the charges were read to him, Bush stated, “Absolutely, definitely not guilty.”
Allegations are that on a day unknown between the 1st of January 1999 and the 31st of December 2001 at a residence in West Bay, the former premier raped a female, who was not named by the court. He is also accused of assaulting the female on a day unknown during the same period by performing oral sex on her.
Bush, who is also expected to stand trial in another matter in September, remains on bail.
