(CMR) According to Cayman Marl Road exclusive sources, alleged laptop thief Mark Lawrence returned to Jamaica on March 22, 2019 – a mere two days after he was exposed for allegedly perpetrating a fraud against Office Supply involving a Lenovo laptop.
The management at Office Supply appear unaware of his whereabouts or that he had left the jurisdiction when contacted by CMR yesterday.
In an astonishing turn of events; he allegedly called the store shortly after he was featured on Cayman Marl Road using his alias name “Eriko Brinkman”. He noted that he was travelling on business and he wanted to pay for the laptop and sort the “misunderstanding” out upon his return to Cayman. When asked why he had ignored numerous attempts to contact him via phone and email; he stated that his “assistant” had somehow gotten matters confused with the bank. However, he refused to send his ID to the company for confirmation via email. Since then he has made no further contact with them.
We understand that Supervisor Burrels from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service was dealing with the matter and was to make contact with the retailer to provide them with updates; but none have been received. To the best of our knowledge he was not arrested before leaving Cayman.
As previously stated he was recently married to a resident on Cayman Brac.
