(CMR) Three persons who were arrested after a woman was shot and killed in a church in Jamaica last week have been charged with murder.
Andrea Lowe-Garwood (51) was shot and killed as she participated in worship at the Agape Christian Fellowship Church in Falmouth, Trelawny, on Sunday, January 31.
Among those charged is Lowe-Garwood's stepson Javan Garwood (29); Garwood, an account analyst, has been charged with murder and conspiracy to murder.
Also charged are Leon Hines (23), who has been charged with murder, and Dwight Bingham, charged with murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
According to police reports, Hines had previously conspired with Garwood and Bingham to have Lowe-Garwood killed. Hines allegedly drove a white Toyota Allion motorcar transporting Bingham to the church.
Bingham, who posed as a member of the congregation, reportedly walked over to Lowe-Garwood as she prayed and shot her several times. He then left the church and made his escape in the waiting car.
Police theorized the family of Lowe-Garwood's husband, who died last year, conspired to have her killed in a family dispute over his possessions.
Lowe-Garwood's husband was killed in a motor vehicle accident last July. The couple had been married for over three years when he died.
