(CMR) A six-car pile-up has confirmed what many of us have suspected for a long time – traffic woes in Cayman are at an all-time high!
CMR has just received this exclusive video which shows 6 cars being involved in an accident.
We understand that it’s in the vicinity of Buddy’s Way close to Savannah Primary School.
We would suggest drivers take an alternate route for 5:00 pm traffic.
POLICE UPDATE:
One male driver was hospitalized following the accidents.
Reports from the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) are that at around 4:20 PM, officers responded to a report of a 5 vehicle collision on Shamrock Road in the vicinity of Savannah Primary School.
The five vehicles which were traveling in the eastbound lane: A white Nissan Caravan, red Chevrolet Cruze, grey Honda Civic, black Toyota Mark X, and burgundy Mitsubishi Pajero.
It is understood that the first car in the procession, the Pajero, slowed in order to make a turn, and the car to the rear, the Caravan, collided with the car in front of it, causing a chain reaction in which all five vehicles were hit.
The driver of the Chevrolet was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital and treated for minor aches and pains. The occupants of the other vehicles declined medical attention.
The lane was blocked for a little over an hour and officers on scene directed traffic until the roadway was reopened.
