(CMR) The trial of MP McKeeva Bush, charged with indecently assaulting two women, continued on Tuesday, with jurors being shown several pieces of CCTV footage of him at the Caribbean Tourism Organization cocktail party at the Ritz-Carlton in 2022.
The footage, which has no sound, shows both victims, but only the assault of one woman was caught on camera. In one video, Bush is seen arriving and greeting the first complainant. Despite her efforts to pull away, the video shows Bush holding onto or retaking her arm several times before kissing her bare shoulder.
A police officer providing security at the event approached Bush, put a hand on his back, and talked with him, which gave the woman the chance to move away. Bush then left the area and headed towards the bar.
The woman is then seen talking with the police officer before approaching her husband.
Meanwhile, Bush is seen moving through the cocktail party, chatting with and hugging various women. Before disappearing from the camera view to the be area.
The West Bay West MP is later seen being guided outside to the terrace by Cline Glidden, his friend and former political colleague, where they spoke for about 12 minutes. Glidden then moved back inside while Bush remained outside for a few more minutes before returning to the bar area.
The second complainant was seen talking with another woman before she headed to the bar, where the prosecution said Bush sucked and bit the woman’s arm.
Moments later, Glidden is seen, with his arms raised, heading to the bar area, where Bush and the second victim were. The police officer who had spoken with Bush following the alleged assault of the first woman also headed to the area.
Glidden is again seen guiding Bush outside and away from other guests even as Bush stops, chats with guests, and hugs various other women.
With the help of another woman, Glidden managed to usher Bush out of the cocktail area to the hotel’s main lobby, even as he tried to shake them off.
On Tuesday, the jurors did a site visit to the Ritz ballroom and were shown the cameras, the locations that were in the blind spots, and the places where Bush is said to have assaulted the women.
The victims were expected to start testifying on Wednesday as the case continues.
