(CMR) The Cayman Islands Coast Guard recovered a number of spent shell casings along the coastline at the Duck Pond dock after police responded to shots being fired in the area on Wednesday, 14 February.
Reports from the RCIPS are that shortly after 11 a.m., in response to reports of possible shots fired in the vicinity of the Duck Pond dock, located in the North Sound Estates area, the RCIPS requested the assistance of Cayman Islands Coast Guard officers to carry out a search along the coastline at the dock at Leeward Drive. During their search, the CICG team recovered a number of spent shell casings at the location.
The casings were subsequently handed over to the RCIPS for forensic processing. The matter is currently under investigation.
Several spent shell casings were also recovered in West Bay on Wednesday.
