(CMR) Travis Alexander Ebanks (29) of West Bay was shot and killed early Sunday morning, 21 January. This is the first murder in the Cayman Islands since the start of 2024.
Police reports are just before 4 a.m., police and other emergency services were dispatched to King Road in West Bay, where it was reported that gunshots were heard in the area.
Ebanks, who was reported on bail, was found with what appeared to be gunshot wounds to the chest. He was transported to the hospital by ambulance where he was later pronounced deceased. The RCIPS has expressed condolences to his family and loved ones.
This incident is being investigated by the police who are currently on scene. The public is being asked to avoid this area if possible. Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Major Incident Room at 649-2930.
