(CMR) The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) are now investigating a report of rape after a woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by three men who offered her a ride in a car with them Monday morning, 13 November.
Reports from the police are that shortly after 10:25 a.m., officers were dispatched to a report of the serious sexual assault. It was reported that the woman had been at a bus stop in the Savannah area of Bodden Town, when she was offered a ride by a group of three men in a small car, one of whom was known to her. When she entered the car, the men drove her to a secluded area, brandished a firearm at her, and sexually assaulted her. The men then allowed her to exit the vehicle before driving off.
The woman then sought help from persons passing by, who were driving a silver Suzuki Swift, and transported her to an address in George Town, where police were called. Police are appealing for the persons who were driving this car to contact the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
The woman was transported to the hospital for medical evaluation and subsequently discharged. Appropriate safeguarding measures have been put in place for her.
The suspect who was driving the vehicle is described as tall, of dark complexion and muscular build.
The suspect who brandished the gun is described as having of dark complexion, with a large beard and short hair.
The third suspect is described as being skinny, of brown complexion, with short dreadlocks.
The matter is currently under investigation by George Town CID, and anyone with further information is asked to contact the number above.
