(CMR) A woman was robbed of her handbag, which contained cash and personal items, while standing outside a gas station on Eastern Avenue on Tuesday evening, 31 October.
The RCIPS said that just after 8:35 p.m., police were dispatched to Eastern Avenue, where it was reported that the robbery had taken place near the intersection of Eastern Avenue and Godfrey Nixon Way.
It was reported that a woman was standing outside the gas station located in that area of Eastern Avenue when she was approached by a man, described as slim build, approximately 5 feet 9 inches in height, and had what was believed to be a Caymanian Accent. The man was said to be wearing a dark-colored hoodie when he approached her and demanded her handbag. The woman resisted, and the man forced the handbag from her grasp, causing her minor injuries.
The man was believed to have left the location on foot heading in the direction of Washington Boulevard from Godfrey Nixon Way.
The incident is being investigated by police, and detectives are asking for anyone with information to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
