(CMR) A 15-year-old boy was shot and killed by his father in St Catherine, Jamaica, early Wednesday morning, after his father reportedly mistook him for an intruder. Dead is Raheem Shaw, a fifth-form student at Wolmer's Boys School in Kingston.
Reports are that at about 3:13 a.m., the man's wife woke him and said someone was breaking in. The man reportedly jumped up and fired shots at a shadow. He later found out it was his teen son.
It is not clear why the teen left the home. However, reports are that the boy had a good relationship with his father and was not known for any behavioral issues.
The police are investigating the incident. Grief counselors have been supporting students at Wolmer's Boys' School, Jamaica Gleaner reported.
