(CMR) The family of a Seventh Day Adventist pastor and his daughter who were kidnapped on Christmas Eve in Haiti are actively working to have them released, the Seventh Day Adventist Church Inter-American Division said.
Pastor Elie Henry, president of the Inter-American Division, and Irma Henry, chief of Physical Therapy at Haiti Adventist Hospital, have been detained by unknown individuals in Port-au-Prince.
The two were kidnapped after leaving Haiti Adventist Hospital Thursday evening. They left the hospital by private vehicle at approximately 6 pm but never arrived at their expected destination.
Their kidnappers have demanded a US$ 5 million ransom for their release.
Members of the Seventh Day Adventist church in the Cayman Islands and many other countries have been praying together for the safe release of the pastor and his daughter.
