(CMR) A serious motor scooter accident on Saturday evening that left a man with a partially amputated leg involved an off duty police officer it was confirmed by the police.
Eyewitnesses immediately shared that the 6:40 p.m. accident involved a police officer in an SUV when both parties were headed west on Shamrock Road. Injured is Kadeem Donald.
Some eyewitnesses claimed that the SUV “clipped” the motor scooter rider after attempting to change lanes causing him to lose control and crash.
However, another commented that the bike rider may have travelled too close to the vehicle And “lick in he back of the vehicle because he was speeding”.
The police indicated the officer was tested for DUI and was cleared of that. We understand the officer rendered assistance at the scene for the victim as well.
Good Samaritans who happened upon the accident assisted the rider in getting to the hospital. CMR understands that it was Churchill that was instrumental in putting him in his truck to get him immediate medical attention.
He immediately underwent surgery at the hospital and will require future surgeries in the coming days. He also suffered a punctured lung and broken ribs. CMR understands they were not able to reattach his leg.
