(CMR) Trinidadians are on high alert for inclement weather as a tropical wave approaches the island.
The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service said, in an update, that the approaching wave had a low chance of development but citizens were urged to maintain vigilance.
The system was located approximately 1,200 kilometres east of the Lesser Antilles, centred near 11N and 49W, and is expected to move westward at around 25 kilometres per hour.
“Regardless of development, this system will likely produce gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall across portions of the Windward and Leeward islands from the evening of Wednesday October 14, 2020, into Thursday October 15, 2020,” said the local Met Service in a release.
