Robert Whittaker (60) has been arrested and held for several nights after an alleged drunken rampage that saw the destruction of four vehicles over the weekend.
Well placed Cayman Marl Road sources indicate that the civil servant retiree was arrested on suspicion of DUI at his residence shortly after the incident whilst eating a ham sandwich and drinking a beer.
Our sources also indicate that he was “well over the legal limit”.
Whittaker was the Assistant Director of the Department of Labour & Pensions (DLP) and retired in December 2014 after 24 years in the Cayman Islands Civil Service. At that time he was the longest-serving employee at the DLP.
