(CMR) Earlier this morning we reported that an elderly pedestrian was hit by a vehicle and was it was feared his injuries may have been fatal. We updated the reports an hour later to confirm that he sustained serious head injuries and was taken to the hospital for immediate treatment and is said to have sustained life-threatening injuries.
CMR has been exclusively informed that he sustained two heart attacks yesterday. One occurred in the trauma room and one in the CCU. He is currently unconscious and on life support. Said to be in his early 60's his condition is extremely tenuous at the moment.
The incident happened around 10:30 am in the vicinity of Trumach Drive off Shamrock Road; close to his residence. The incident caused extreme traffic delays into the afternoon in both directions on Shamrock Road.
