(CMR) Caymanian pilot Anthony Hawkins Schick flew his inaugural flight into Owen Roberts International Airport Wednesday morning, 2 November, as a First Officer for Delta Airlines.
First Officer Schick, who started with Delta earlier this year, flew from Atlanta into Grand Cayman.
“This is my first time flying the Delta airbus 320 into Grand Cayman, so that to me was actually an amazing feeling. I had the opportunity to land the plane,” he said during an interview with CMR.
First Officer Schick, who lives in the US, also calls Cayman home. He is the son of Antonio Hawkins and Vernice Hawkins

“I love every opportunity when I can come here. But now I have the opportunity where I can fly in as a pilot and that's an amazing experience,” he added
Schick said flying to his home country gave him feelings of pride and nostalgia as he landed in Grand Cayman.
“The excitement of knowing that I was behind the control of the aircraft and bringing these wonderful people to these wonderful islands,” he said, adding it's not something that other pilots with airlines outside Cayman Airways experience regularly.
