(CMR) Trinidad and Tobago has gone into a second partial lockdown after the Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley on Saturday (August 15) announced the closure of several entities amid a rise in the number of coronavirus cases.
The PM ordered gyms, casinos, houses of worship,casinos and members clubs closed as well as suspended access to beaches and rivers.
Rowely has also reduced the services that restaurants, food courts and bars can offer.
According to Minister of National Security, restaurant businesses are not closed but can only facilitate takeaway only services.
As of Thursday the country's ministry of health reported that forty-four more persons had tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the number of confirmed cases to 730 and active cases to 578.
