(CMR) Cayman Marl Road continues to receive footage of persons who are purposely ignoring the shelter in place provisions as mandated by law. This blatant disregard for the law will have criminal consequences. However, we now believe that there should be social consequences as well. We are all in this together and anyone ignoring the rules runs the risk of being featured as our jackass of the day.
This man, David Furze, was getting a haircut from his barber he claims is a stranger and shared the photos publically on his social media platform. He also posted himself paddling boarding in the water just `7 hours ago when no water activity is currently allowed.
People were outraged by his flagrantly disregarding the laws of the Cayman Islands. and then having no shame at all about it. They shared:
“When someone commented he was breaking the law his reply was “yeap I know” – clearly has absolutely no regard for the law or fear for consequences! He seems to be treating this like one big party. Please post on your page as these people should be cautioned by the police. The whole country is coming together to fight COVID-19 and people like this are the reason it’s spreading still.”
Ironically over the weekend, he lambasted beachgoers on his own Facebook page:
