UPDATE: The two men who were arrested in relation to the robbery in West Bay on 8 February have been formally charged by the police. Randon Davis (26) and Lincoln Sibron (21) are charged with Robbery and Possession of an Imitation Firearm with Intent to Commit a Crime. They were remanded in custody until Friday, 16 February.
(CMR) A 21-year-old male from George Town and a 26-year-old male from North Side were arrested in relation to the robbery of the Pink Shop JN Money Transfer in West Bay on Thursday, 8 February.
Reports from the RCIPS are that shortly after 7:30 p.m, police responded to a report of an armed robbery at a convenience store on Reverend Blackman Road, West Bay.
It was reported that two males entered the store wearing masks and hoodies, one carrying a firearm. The man with the firearm approached the store manager and demanded cash from the register and cigarettes. The other man approached a cashier at a Money Transfer Station at the rear of the store and demanded cash. After stealing the items the two men departed the store.
Shortly after, police received information from the 911 communication center that two men had been spotted at a location in the vicinity of Powery Road, West Bay, acting suspiciously. With the assistance of the police helicopter officers located and apprehended the two men. A quantity of cash and a vehicle believed to be the getaway car was recovered.
The two men were arrested and transported to the Detention Center. Investigations continue.
