(CMR) The bodies of three young women who went missing in Roatan, Honduras, on Sunday, 7 January, were found Tuesday evening in the vehicle they left in for Punta Gorda.
Maria Antonia Cruz, Dionne Solorzano, and Nikendra McCoy reportedly left with Gilbert Reyes Reyes Bermudez, who it is believed has since left the country. The vehicle driven by Reyes Reyes Bermudez was found in French Key with the three bodies inside.
Reyes Bermudez, who was reportedly arrested in 2008 for the murder of a resident of San Francisco, is believed to have left Honduras for California.
While families were hoping for the best, some were fearful that something terrible had happened to these young women based on Reyes Bermudez's history.
Dione Beatriz Solórzano, the mother of one of the women who have disappeared, said she spoke to her daughter Sunday at about 8:30 pm when she called and asked her to send a copy of her ID card. The woman was tearful when she spoke to local media about the disappearance of her daughter.
