(CMR) The family of a teenage boy who managed to avoid being attacked by several neighborhood kids who turned up at his home armed to fight him over the weekend are outraged at the police's response to the situation.
The grandmother and owner of the house in West Bay was reportedly told that a member of the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) would be making contact; however, CMR understands up to the time of publishing this story on Tuesday, no one had reached out as yet.
The boys reportedly turned up and knocked on the door. The teenager who was at the house opened the door because he recognized they were children from the neighborhood; however, when he opened the door, he realized their intentions were not good.
The boys can be heard in the video leveling threats, including burning down the property. The matter was reported to the police, but the family was told it was a matter for the MASH unit.
Several Caymanians have expressed concerns about how the police respond to some incidents like this one and are calling on the Commissioner of Police to address this.
