(CMR) A man who is wanted on suspicion of murder in Jamaica was arrested in the Cayman Islands after the RCIPS was alerted by the Jamaica police that the man was visiting Cayman.
According to the RCIPS, on Monday, 6 November, they were alerted by regional law enforcement partners in Jamaica, about a male visiting the Cayman Islands who is wanted in Jamaica.
The RCIPS, in collaboration with its partners at Customs and Border Control located and detained the man on Wednesday, 8 November. This morning, Thursday 9 November the man was transported by CBC officers back to Jamaica and handed over to the Jamaican Constabulary Force on arrival.
“This apprehension demonstrates the importance of collaborative efforts between the police and our local, regional and international partners in securing our borders. It also sends a clear message that we will act swiftly when alerted of criminals who attempt to enter or reside in our Islands”, said Commissioner of Police, Kurt Walton.
