(CMR) A man carrying a machete kicked down a door during a burglary in East End early Thursday morning, 9 November, causing a resident to suffer minor injuries.
The RCIPS said that just after 1:30 a.m., police were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a report of a burglary in progress at a residence located on Seaview Road, East End.
It was reported that a man wearing a dirty white marina and shorts trespassed into the residential address, kicking down an interior door which hit a resident, causing her minor injuries. He was carrying a machete at the time that he was seen and demanded money from the occupants. He left the location on foot with a quantity of cash in an unknown direction.
Uniform and armed officers attended the location and made checks in the surrounding areas for the man; however, he was not located.
The incident is being investigated by the Eastern Districts CID, and detectives are encouraging anyone with information pertaining to this incident to call the Bodden Town Police Station at 947-2220.
