(CMR) A group of people who assembled outside the Everglo Bar in Bodden Town ran for their lives after a man approached them with a handgun Sunday night, 8 October. The lone gunman managed to get a handbag left behind.
Police reports are that just after 10:10 pm on Sunday, officers were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to Bodden Town Road, where it was reported that a robbery had taken place.
It was reported that a man carrying a handgun approached the group of people outside the bar. Seeing this, the group ran to safety, and in doing so, a handbag was left in the area; it was stolen by the gunman. He then fled the location in a dark-colored vehicle, heading southbound.
Police responded to the report, and a search was carried out in an effort to locate the vehicle, but it was not found. The police are investigating the incident, and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Bodden Town Police Station at 947-2220.
