Top member of Jamaica Fire Brigade charged with attempted rape

(CMR) A high-ranking member of the Jamaica Fire Brigade, Assistant Commissioner Floyd McLean, has been charged with attempted rape and sexual touching of a 14-year-old girl.

According to Nationwide News Network, allegations are that the complainant was conducting voluntary service at the Jamaica Fire Brigade in Montego Bay, St. James, last month, when she met McLean in his office.

It’s alleged that McLean attempted to have intercourse with the girl; however she resisted and he then reportedly fondled her.

Following the sexual assault, McLean allegedly asked the complainant if she could be his girlfriend.

The teen told her aunt about her ordeal and the incident was reported to the police on the same day.

McLEan has reportedly been with the Fire department for over 30 years.
