(CMR) Police are investigating after a man was stabbed in the abdomen during an altercation on Birch Tree Hill Road in West Bay on Saturday, 4 May.
According to the RCIPS, just after 10:10 p.m., the 9-1-1 Communication Centre dispatched police and other emergency services to a report of a wounding incident.
Officers attended the location and met with one of the parties involved. They observed that the man had a single stab wound to the abdomen and informed the police that he was involved in an altercation with another man, which resulted in him sustaining the injury. The other party involved had left the location prior to the arrival of the police.
The injured man was transported to the hospital by ambulance and treated for a serious but non-life-threatening injury and later released.
