(CMR) To mark this year’s 25th anniversary,  the Cayman Islands Red Cross (CIRC) has launched the “Peter Milburn Challenge” to raise $25,000 for its 25th Annual Golf Tournament on Friday, September 1, 2023, at the North Sound Golf Club.

This milestone event celebrates a quarter-century of CIRC supporting communities in need.

Peter Milburn founded the Golf Tournament, served as Chairman of the board of CIRC for eight (8) years, and has volunteered as a first aid instructor for many years. Furthermore, Milburn holds the distinction of being one of Cayman's first Olympic athletes, having represented the island in sailing during the 1976 Olympics.

“Twenty-five years ago, I founded the Cayman Islands Red Cross Golf Tournament with the goal of raising funds to help those in need. Today, as we celebrate the tournament's 25th anniversary, I am more committed than ever to our mission. I am asking for your help to raise $25,000 for the Cayman Islands Red Cross. Your donation will make a difference in the lives of people in our community,” Milburn urged.

Get involved by becoming an event sponsor or donating directly on the CIRC website (www.redcross.org.ky). To learn more about sponsorship opportunities, email [email protected] or call 345-949-6785.

All proceeds to support the Cayman Islands Red Cross Programs go towards Disaster Management, First Aid & CPR, Water Safety, Lifeguard Training, Child Protection and Sexuality Education, Volunteer Development, and the Thrift Shop.

Join the Cayman Islands Red Cross in celebrating its dedication and commitment to making a positive impact in the community.
