(CMR) Police have reported another water-related death in the Cayman Islands, the third since last week and the second visitor.
According to the RCIPS, just before 3:25 pm Wednesday, 19 July, police and other emergency services were dispatched to West Bay Road, where it was reported that a 55-year-old-man, who is a visitor to the Cayman Islands, was pulled from the water after showing signs of distress.
After being brought to shore, a civilian at the location immediately began doing CPR, which was taken over by officers from the Cayman Islands Fire Service. The man was later transported to the hospital by ambulance, where he was treated by the medical staff; however, after two days of treatment, he succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased by the attending doctor on Friday, 21 July.
Earlier this week, chairman of the National Conservation Council board McFarlane “Mac” Conolly (70) died after experiencing difficulties while snorkeling at Colliers Beach, East End.
An 80-year-old woman who was visiting the Cayman Islands from the US died last Thursday after experiencing difficulties while swimming.
