(CMR) An armed man on a bicycle reportedly robbed the Events Pro booth at The Sandbar shortly after midnight Saturday morning, 10 June. CMR understands he only got $50.
Police responded to the report of an armed robbery at a bar on North Church Street, just north of Fort Street, after 12 AM. It was reported that a masked man approached a ticket booth at the location, brandished a firearm, and demanded money from the workers there.
The man was last seen riding a bicycle in the direction of Mary Street. No shots were fired, and no one was injured during the incident.
The suspect is described as being about 5’6” tall, of slim build, and was wearing a dark hoodie and black ski mask.
The matter is under investigation, and anyone with any information, or who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident, is asked to contact George Town CID and 949-4222.
