(CMR) Law enforcers and community members are carrying out a search for a man believed to be a serial kidnapper in St Thomas, Jamaica. Davian Bryan, who is on bail for rape, is wanted in relation to the kidnapping of nine-year-old Phylisa Prussia, who was taken from her home last Thursday and 13-year-old Winshae Barrett who was abducted on Saturday.
Both girls have since been found alive. Phylisa was taken from her home on Thursday evening as she played with her dog. CCTV reportedly showed the perpetrator leading the young girl away. She was found on Saturday in a tent in the hills of St Thomas.
More than 500 hundred community members assisted with the search supported by the police, the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA), and other agencies.
While Jamaicans rejoiced that the child was found alive, the alleged perpetrator struck again, abducting Winshae, who had gone to feed pigs near her home. She was found on Monday. Both girls were taken to the hospital for treatment, the extent of their injuries is not known.
Residents are now fearful that Bryan may attack again, and parents are urged to keep their children close to them at all times.
