(CMR) At least 47 COVID-19 cases were detected at the Police Academy in Twickenham Park, St Catherine on Thursday (December 10)
Reports are that the St Catherine Health Department was called to the location where 280 persons were tested.
Two instructors were among the batch of 47 that tested positive for the illness.
The Health Department has since ordered that the section of the campus be quarantined and the positive cases isolated.
In an update on Monday (December 14) head of communications for the Jamaica Constabulary Force Senior Superintendent(SSP) Stephanie Lindsay said the police have curtailed the outbreak at the college.
SSP Lindsay said that there are no new cases at the college, however they remain vigilant.
The ministry has said the cluster at the location has contributed to the COVID-19 cases in Twickenham Park, adding that Central Village was also an area they were closely watching.
St Catherine is one of the parishes with the most active cases of the virus.
