(CMR) There are five new cases of the coronavirus in the Cayman Islands. Chief Medical Officer, John Lee, made the revelation on Monday (April 20) at the island’s daily press briefing aimed at sharing updates about the virus.
Lee said the new cases result from 76 samples taken on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the previous week.
“There are five positive of whom four are locally acquired; one was the contact of a previously known sufferer,” said Lee
“71 were negative that brings the total to 778 tested; 66 positive and 711 negatives,” added Lee.
Lee further shared that a coronavirus patient who was stationed at Health City with a breathing tube, no longer required the device.
According to Lee, five patients remain clinically recovered including one individual on Cayman Brac.
