(CMR) Dr. Aftab Awan, Veterinary Professor with Saint Matthews University, School of Veterinary Medicine was terminated last Friday February 1, 2019 with immediate effect after numerous allegations of sexual misconduct.
According to exclusive CMR sources at least ten members of the female student population had lodged numerous complaints against the professor “dating back years.” Unfortunately the university's administration is alleged to have ignored those allegations. One person noted:
“Serious written reports and allegations fell on deaf ears for many years without any sufficient explanation as to why. Some of these reports alleged the misconduct including kissing students, inappropriate touching, inappropriate use of sexual slanders/words, contacting students outside of school hours, and requesting sexual favors in exchange for altering grades. We don't understand why the student body was not taken seriously and these matters properly investigated until now.”
CMR contacted school administrators who have opted to remain silent to the media. However, they allegedly told complainants that they had no record of previous allegations; which is strongly contested by the female students. Instead we understand that multiple students have submitted both official complaints and scathing professional reviews on Dr. Awan detailing these inappropriate events for years now – but no investigation was carried out.
According to his biography he was a Professor of Virolog, Immunology, Histology and Pathology at St. Matthews for almost six years. Previously he taught at the St. James School of Medicine in Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean. Prior to that he was a senior scientist at Cambridge for several years. He was educated at the University of Cambridge where he obtained his Doctorate of Philosophy degree. He also obtained a MSc. in Virology from the College of Veterinary Medicine, Lahore.
