(CMR) The Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Dr. Keith Rowley, was hospitalized Friday afternoon.
Reports are that the PM suffered from cardiac issues and was rushed to the West Shore Medical Hospital Friday afternoon by his security detail.
A statement from the prime minister's Office said Dr. Rowley felt some discomfort Friday afternoon and sought medical attention.
According to the statement, he will be kept at the facility overnight as a precautionary measure. The statement also said Dr. Rowley was in good spirits.
“Out of an abundance of caution, he will be kept for observation, and further tests will be conducted,” the statement from his office said.
