(CMR) Jamaica recorded 4 new cases of the coronavirus on Tuesday (June 30 ) bringing the island's total to 702 cases.
According to the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MOHW) the new cases relate to individuals who arrived on flights from the United States.
The MOHW reported that the new case consists of two men and two women who range in age from 25-43 years.
Of the 702 cases, 553 persons have recovered putting the island's recovery rate at 78%.
Among the active cases- which amount to 131 persons – there is only one moderately ill case.
Since Jamaica reopened its borders on June 1, the country has seen a slight increase in the number of coronavirus cases.
Currently, the country has a policy of testing all incoming passengers, however, the Prime Minister Andrew Holness recently announced that passengers from high -risk states would need to provide proof of testing prior to arrival.
