(CMR) Sections of Bermuda are still without electricity after the entire island lost power Friday morning.
The cause of the outage was being investigated; however, Premier David Burt wrote on Twitter that,
“There has been no catastrophic damage and loss of life.”
He said the restoration of power was expected to start Friday afternoon.
Mr. Burt tweeted that the hospital had emergency power and that the ICU patients were not affected by the power outage. He said the police had been deployed to assist with traffic.
Bermuda Electric Light Company said it was working to restore power to the entire island. The company asked customers to bear with them as they carried out work Friday afternoon.
