“You punched me in my head twenty times on this drive home, twenty times Jayson, don't you think that's enough? … after 5 years “it is time I break my silence”
Victim of vicious assault by ex-boyfriend
(CMR) The Royal Cayman Islands Police are investigating an allegation of assault from an incident last weekend after the parties took to social media to address each other and air their side of the story. The victim said the police have the video of the assault but many shared that she endured many years of abuse at the hands of her alleged abuser.
CMR has received numerous screenshots and photos of the parties, their Instagram posts and disturbing photos that paint an alleged history of abuse at the hands of Jayson Brown (JB Locomotive). Photos/videos have been cropped to protect the ID of the victim.
The events started after the victim attended a Friday, March 26 FOG event last weekend and did not return home until after 6:00 am. It is alleged that after she returned home the man which she said clarified is her ex-boyfriend rushed and attacked her without warning.
The victim posted the assault which was captured on CCTV footage at 6:43 a.m on her Instagram account. He can be seen rushing her as she was attempting to go through a sliding glass door. He then slams her against it and proceeds to throw her down on the ground before his friend runs to her rescue and pulls him off of her. He posted that he did not hit her but she later shared two images of her face showing bruising around her left eye and right cheekbone areas.
For his part, he blamed the victim sharing that “I never in my life did that to anyone else” and that she was to blame for the attack. In one screenshot from his IG account, he shared that she told him she was going out with 8 girls to the event and “come home near 6:00 am with …..”.
At one point he claims he has never done this to anyone else before but another person retorted that he's a serial offender and shared:
He also accused her of cheating on him with another local man and allegedly giving him an STD; which she vehemently denies. However, to prove his point he shared several messages from others including an HSA STI and HIV Programme Co-ordinator. There are no dates shown for those emails or WhatsApp screenshots. Claiming to have had lunch with her that day and brought her flowers appears to be a sticking point for him. However, she claims that they had broken up weeks prior and were not in a relationship last weekend and the meeting was his attempt at apologizing to her for ongoing cheating but she remained single.
Eventually, he appears to accept some responsibility for the assault but also resorts to blaming alcohol sharing that:
“Alcohol got the best of me but I didn't punch her, I only grabbed her head because I was so fkcn mad and was tired of being lied to!!!!!!!”.
The victim retorted with IG posts of her own calling him a liar and showing her bruised face and eye. She stated that after 5 years “it is time I break my silence”.
In addition, she has several photos and voice notes from past incidents including one in October 2020 where he could be heard cursing at her after an assault of pulling her hair, punching her in the head and “causing her head to bleed.” In one voice note she shared:
“You punched me in my head twenty times on this drive home, twenty times Jayson, don't you think that's enough?”. He replied with he doesn't give a F. In one voice note she can be heard screaming “Oh, Jayson I'm driving” as he hits her and replies, “you caused this”. She begs him to stop and at one point he said he should “burn her out”.
Allegations are that he has been abusive towards her for “many years” and even “dragged her down the road” one person shared with CMR. She posted photos of her knees and legs bleeding from that incident.
