(CMR) A resident in Savannah who had several pieces of jewelry valued at over US$20,000 stolen from her home is seeking the public's help to recover the items. She is offering a reward for returning these items and is also willing not to press charges if the perpetrator who stole the items returns them.
The female said she recently finished doing renovations at her house when she discovered that most of her jewelry had been stolen.
“I didn't notice they were gone as I thought all along they were under lock and key… until I went to pack my suitcase yesterday and could not find the pouch with my jewelry,” she said.
The Savannah resident said she remembered changing her earrings and may have left the jewelry bag on her bathroom counter or in a drawer.
The items not only have significant monetary value but are of sentimental value to the owner. She said two o the items are one-of-a-kind customized.
“The pearl earrings were the only thing my Mom gave me before she passed two years ago, and I had a jeweler last year customize the ear attachment, and they said it was quite valuable and dated probably before the 1940s,” she explained.
A pendant stolen is a 1-ounce gold Canadian Coin with a diamond mounted on the chain loop, which also came from an aunt who passed. The owner said this was also e a very rare piece with a higher value.
A heavy and large KINGS-LINK solid gold chain which cost about $14,000, was also in the pouch.
“I have nothing else from my Mom and am still having such a hard time that the guys I had working on my home, whom I treated so well… bought them lunch, paid them extra, etc.. turned around and did this to me.
Some of them worked with me for over a month, so me being an honest person, developed trust and never expected this one bit… never thought I had to look over my shoulder. To think they went searching into my bedroom and bathroom is also heartbreaking,” she stated.
Some of the items stolen can be seen in the above gallery.
