(CMR) The Cayman Islands Fire Service (CIFS) recently welcomed 12 new trainee firefighters, with hundreds expressing interest in the organization. The new group, which consists of 11 males and one female, recently started their 18 weeks of aviation and domestic fire and rescue training with the hope of becoming the next class of certified firefighters.
During the recent recruitment drive in Cayman Brac on July 21 and Grand Cayman on July 22, over 200 persons expressed interest, the CIFS reported
During the drive, CIFS officers conducted demonstrations utilizing standard industry fire and rescue equipment. In addition, CIFS Officers were also on hand responding to queries from interested persons regarding the assessment stages of the recruitment process.
