(CMR) Around 45 teens marked this year's International Youth Day with a beach clean up organised by the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) today.
Celebrating the 2020 theme “Youth Engagement for Global Action,” and starting at Colliers Beach in East End, the department's Youth Services Team were joined by members of the National Drug Council, the Youth Services Unit, John Gray High School's Boyz 2 Men programme and the Seventh-Day Adventist Church Pathfinder club.
After moving on to clear debris from the iron shore further along the coast, the group had lunch courtesy of co-sponsors Tukka restaurant. The International Youth Day project ended with a visit to the newly-opened Cayman Islands Parrot Sanctuary. The group was bussed to and from the initiative by co-sponsors Webster's Tours Ltd.
