(CMR) The Passport and Corporate Services Office is advising all travelers to check their passports to ensure all is in order for the upcoming Easter and Summer holiday travels.
The Office is recommending that travelers:
-Check their passport expiry date to ensure validity for the dates of travel,
-Check that their passport is valid according to the country’s entry requirements. For example. When traveling to the United States, the British Overseas Territories passport must be valid for at least six months after the date of intended departure from the United States;
–Apply for/renew passports ahead of travel time (during peak periods, processing time can increase to 10 to 12 weeks) and
-Apply and process any necessary visas as required for their travel.
“By planning ahead, travelers can avoid unnecessary delays and cancellations. This will also allow travelers to obtain any guidance or assistance they may need before their expected date of travel,” a representative of the Office stated.
For more information on passport services, members of the public may contact the Passport and Corporate Services Office at 345-949-8344 or 345-943-7678, or via email, [email protected].
The Passport and Corporate Services Office provides passport services to British Overseas Territory citizens residing in the Cayman Islands and US Visa waivers. The office is also responsible for the issuance of the Governor’s Special Marriage Licence and the legislation of documents.
