(CMR) Miguel Martin, airport manager at Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CKIA), has retired after 35 years of unwavering dedication to the Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA).
According to the CIAA, Martin’s journey with the CIAA began on 16 October 1989, when he joined as an Air Traffic Control Assistant. Over the years, he rose through the ranks, demonstrating exceptional skill and leadership.
From becoming a certified Air Traffic Controller in 1991, an Air Traffic Control Supervisor in 2000, an Airport Operations Officer in 2012, and finally, to his promotion to Airport Manager of CKIA in 2014, the CIAA said Martin's career trajectory is a testament to his relentless pursuit of excellence.
“Miguel, your impact and contributions to the CIAA have been immeasurable, and your presence will be significantly missed. On behalf of the entire organization, the CIAA expresses its deepest gratitude for your decades of dedication, professionalism, and cherished camaraderie,” the CIAA wrote in a post on social media.
The organization, in celebrating MArtin's well-deserved retirement, extended its deepest wishes for a future filled with boundless joy, fulfillment, and countless new milestones to cherish.
“Miguel, may this next chapter of your journey be as rewarding as your years of dedicated service to the CIAA,” the post read.
