(CMR) The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) said officers recovered several spent casings near the junction of Eastern Avenue and Shedden Road early Monday morning after reports of shots being fired in the area.
According to the RCIPS, just after 2 a.m. on Monday, 12 February, police were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of shots being fired in the George Town area. Officers from the Firearms Response Unit responded and made checks. Subsequently, they recovered several spent casings at a location near the junction of Eastern Avenue and Shedden Road. Damage caused by the shots fired was observed at a nearby building in that area.
A crime scene was established at the location, and the scene was processed. The incident is being investigated by the police, and detectives are encouraging anyone with information to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
