(CMR) A Jamaican woman has confirmed that a male and female who are seen in a viral video being buried in a shallow grave are her children who went missing on Friday, 8 December.
The siblings Kerrick Moodie (20) and Keneisha Moodie (22) of Grange Hill, Westmoreland, were reportedly killed over money gained through scamming.
Their mother, Stephany Edwards, told Jamaica Observer that, based on a voice note, the two were killed because of their involvement in scamming. They reportedly tried to cut their boss out of money earned.
Edwards, who was able to identify the two from the video, which showed two bloodied bodies being buried in a shallow grave, said she is hoping the bodies will be found.
According to the Observer, in 2021, Keneisha was charged for her involvement in the Kings Valley Gang after she was found with rounds of ammunition in her purse. She was said to be the girlfriend of gang leader Derval Williams.
The mother told the Observer that her daughter had landed a job in St Elizabeth and was living with her brother; however, she left the job to start her own business from home.
The woman said she tried to get her children to live life as law-abiding citizens, but they chose to follow an illegal path. Despite this, she said they are still her children, and she mourns their gruesome killing.
The viral video is below; however, due to the disturbing images, the viewer's discretion is advised.
